Gold Coast Health Plan to Invest $1.5 Million in Ventura County Programs
Medi-Cal Plan to Fund 16 Programs that Focus on Access to Health Care, Food and Housing
CAMARILLO, Calif., June 27, 2017 – Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP) is awarding $1.5 million in grants to organizations throughout Ventura County for programs that focus on access to health care, food and housing.
The grants are being awarded through GCHP’s Community Health Investment program, which was launched in 2016 to provide financial support for programs that address the social determinants affecting the health of GCHP members and other underserved Ventura County residents. For its first year of grant funding, the Plan selected three social determinants of health as priorities: access to quality health care, access to quality and affordable food options, and neighborhood and built environments.
“We are committed to helping provide nutritious meals, community services, and secure environments as well as the quality healthcare GCHP is known for,” said Dale Villani, GCHP’s chief executive officer. “The Plan is proud to support these organizations in their efforts to provide that much-needed support in our community.”

Gold Coast Health Plan is an independent public entity created by a Ventura County ordinance and authorized through Federal Legislation. GCHP is not a county agency.
