Gold Coast Health Plan Hires Chief Financial Officer
Accomplished Health Plan Executive to Take the Financial Helm of Ventura County Medi-Cal Plan
CAMARILLO, Calif., April 10, 2018 – Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP) announced today the hiring of Kashina Bishop as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
“I’m excited to welcome Kashina to Gold Coast Health Plan,” said chief executive officer Dale Villani. “She’s going to be a valuable addition to our executive management team. Her financial leadership and experience at an established Medi-Cal health plan will help us to ensure a strong financial position, which benefits our members and the community.”
Ms. Bishop has more than 15 years of financial services experience, including 10 years at CenCal Health, a managed care organization serving Medi-Cal members in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. While at CenCal, she served as controller and then director of finance where she was responsible for the financial leadership and management of business planning, accounting, budgeting, protection of assets, and contract negotiations. Prior to CenCal, she worked as a certified public accountant (CPA) at Bartlett, Pringle & Wolf, LLP and as a financial associate at Mercer Global Advisors.
“Although I’m ultimately responsible for the financial management of the Plan, I’m most excited about the opportunity to learn more about the Gold Coast Health Plan community and to get to know my new colleagues,” Bishop said. “I look forward to continuing to develop a culture of best practices, operational efficiencies, and continuous process improvement.”
Ms. Bishop earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Santa Barbara. She is a CPA licensed in the state of California and a certified health care financial professional. Bishop will begin her duties on April 16.
